Renji Hospital, established in 1844, is the first Western medicine hospital in Shanghai since the city opened as a port, integrating medical care, teaching, and research. It has been awarded honorary titles such as National Civilized Unit and National May Day Labor Collective Award. [22] It has established academic exchanges and friendly cooperative relations with more than 20 medical schools and institutions in nearly ten countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and France. It is equipped with internationally advanced equipment such as PET-CT, Da Vinci robotic surgery system, and 3D laparoscopy system.
